This Privacy Policy for DrinQ (“we”, “us”, “our”, or the “App”), describes whether, how, and why we might access, collect, store, use, and/or share (process) your information when you use our App, including when you:

  • Download and use our App.
  • Engage with us in other related ways, including any marketing or events.

Reading this Privacy Policy will help you understand your privacy rights and choices. We are responsible for making decisions about how your personal information is processed. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our App.

What personal information do we process?

When you use the App, we do not process any sensitive or personal information as defined by the law, but process certain application data required to provide you with services such as reports and statistics. See section 1 below (What information the App Stores) for more information.

Different jurisdictions define certain types of information as sensitive or special, for example your racial or ethnic origins, sexual orientation, and religious beliefs. We do not process any such kind of information. Nor do we process any data that identifies you as an individual.

Do we collect any information from third parties?

We do not collect any information from third parties.

How do we process your information?

We process your information to provide you with Services. We process your information only when instructed by you, and with your consent. We never collect, store, or distribute this information outside of the device where the App is installed. In what situations and with which parties do we share personal information?

We do not collect or share any information.

What are your rights?

Depending on where you are located geographically, the applicable privacy law may mean you have certain rights regarding your personal information. In all cases, you have the right to request access to all the data you have provided, relinquish this data by removing it entirely, or take possession of this data for your own purposes.

How do you exercise your rights?

The App provides you with tools to export, back up, restore, and delete your data immediately at your request.

1. What Information the App stores

The App may store the following categories of information only on your device:

a. Drink data

  • Drinks you record.
  • Alcohol content, volume, and related details.
  • Drink presentations and names of drink types not originally included with the App.
  • Your chosen units and settings.

b. Geolocation information (optional)

We may request access or permission to track location-based information from your mobile device while you are using the App to improve drink quick-pick predictions. If you wish to change our access or permissions, you may do so in your device’s settings.

If you enable the location feature, the App may store coarse location coordinates only.

Location data is:

  • stored locally on your device,
  • never transmitted to external servers by the App,
  • used only to improve prediction accuracy.

c. Application settings

The App stores application settings including preferred volume units, preferred alcohol display units, and other configuration options.

We do not collect, share, or have access to any of the information stored by the App in your device.

3. What Information Is Not Stored

The App does not:

  • send any data to remote servers,
  • collect personal identifiers such as name, email, race, gender, phone number, or contacts,
  • use analytics SDKs, trackers, or advertising identifiers,
  • transmit information to third parties.

No drinking information, location information, or settings leave your device unless you actively export them.

4. How Your Data Is Stored

All data is stored locally on your device using the secure system storage provided by the operating system. The App does not provide cloud storage or server syncing.

If you choose to export your data, any export file is handled entirely by your device and the third-party apps you select (e.g. email clients, storage providers). The App does not collect or track those files and is not responsible for their use.

5. How Your Data Is Used

The App uses your data only to:

  • Display summaries and analytics of your drinking,
  • Improve drink suggestions and predictions,
  • Support your chosen configurations (budgets, units, etc.).

Your data is never used for advertising, profiling, or sharing with third parties. Your data is never collected or transfered outside of your device by the App.

6. Permissions

The App may request:

  • Location permission (optional): used only for improving predictions. The App will continue to function without this permission.
  • File access (optional): only when exporting your data; no other file access is used.

7. Minors’ Privacy

The App is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age or the equivalent age as specified by law in your jurisdiction. It does not knowingly process data from individuals under 18 years of age, and relies on the Android App Store controls to prevent advertisement, listing, and distribution to persons who are under this age.

8. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the App after updates indicates acceptance of the revised Policy.
